About Us

The Salon

When we launched in 2003 the aim was to create a modern salon with a retro edge.

Five Original Belmont Dainty’s sit in a row, on our original Parkay floor.

The salon has a pleasant clean and relaxing feel and client’s can enjoy a great conversation, with plenty of banter, free Wi-Fi access and a selection of current magazines whilst waiting for a stylist.

At Gareth Clark Hair for Men we have a wealth of experience and knowledge to create your perfect haircut. We pride ourselves in offering the best advice on styles, cuts and product’s to suit our client’s individual needs.

Gareth Clark

After studying unisex hairdressing at college I decided to specialize in barbering. I undertook a three year apprenticeship with a traditional barbers and remained here for twelve years gaining valuable knowledge of a wide range of cutting techniques and styles. Awards for best trainee and best men’s style in Oxfordshire competitions were to follow.

From there I went on to manage a men’s salon in Oxford gaining more valuable knowledge of the profession as a whole. With many years of experience in men’s styling I am as passionate as ever about my work.

I’m currently assessor qualified in barbering and looking to help raise the standard of training available for everyone looking to get into the barbering industry, I do some work with one of the local training providers too.

In 2014 I was invited as a member of the Barber council, part of The Hair Council, as to help raise the standards and requirements of our beloved profession. Many people will be unaware that our industry is currently still not governed, allowing untrained and sub-standard work, hopefully getting everyone, including clients, to realise the standards required.

In 2015 I was appointed as an Ambassador for the hair product company ‘HAIRBOND’ and then later became a member of their Creative team, with the grand title of ‘Global Head Of technical training’.
